Pricing
How our fees work
Every business is different, so we quote on the work rather than publishing a price list that would not apply to you. What we can promise is that the figure is agreed before anything starts.
Principles
What you can rely on
Fixed, agreed in advance
You receive a written proposal setting out exactly what is included and what it costs. The invoice matches the proposal.
Monthly or annual
Most clients spread the fee monthly by standing order so the cost is predictable. Annual payment is fine too.
Questions are included
Ordinary questions during the year are part of the fee. We would rather you called than guessed.
Reviewed openly
If your business grows and the work changes, we discuss the fee before it changes — never after the fact.
What affects the price
The main factors
- Business structure — sole trader, partnership or limited company
- Turnover and the number of transactions each month
- Whether you are VAT registered and how returns are prepared
- Payroll: how many employees, how often they are paid, and CIS
- The condition of your existing records when you come to us
- Whether you need management accounts or forecasting during the year
- Any additional work such as tax planning or a mortgage reference
Typical packages
How clients usually buy
Compliance only
Year-end accounts and the associated tax return, prepared from records you keep yourself. Suits established businesses with good bookkeeping.
Compliance plus VAT and bookkeeping
We keep the records, file the VAT returns and prepare the accounts. The most common arrangement for growing businesses.
Full outsourced finance function
Bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, management accounts and regular review meetings — effectively an outsourced finance department.
Switching
Changing accountant costs you nothing extra
We write to your existing accountant for professional clearance and handle the transfer of records. There is no charge for onboarding and you do not need to have an awkward conversation.
